The question is not "Is Claude private?" but "What account, plan, product, setting, data type, retention policy, connector, and agreement apply to this workflow?" Different Claude surfaces expand what Claude can see and do: chat involves conversation and uploads; Claude Code may include repository content; Cowork may include local files, apps, browser, computer use, and cross-app data flow. Minimize before you share: dedicated working folders, redacted copies, synthetic examples, and least-privilege access.
